YouTube has become a significant platform for relaxing and learning. You can get lots of video tutorials on the platform to guide you when you want to perform a new activity or even give you tips.
Video tutorials are not just used to share information and knowledge with others. It also helps business owners to promote their business and give them brand recognition as they get more subscribers.
Video tutorials are not difficult to create, including the ones where you place your face in the corner of the video
This post will show you how to make a high-quality YouTube tutorial.
Prepare to Record
Use numbers and bullet points to prepare your video outline. Make yourself accustomed to it by reading it over and over again. Organize the text to make it flow as you deliver the message.
Use slides, flash effects, and callouts to make your video tutorial more impressive and attractive. Prepare the stuff you intend to add to the video. Also, ensure that the things you want to add can be combined and flow together naturally.
Use a Recording Software
You can make research on the best recording software to suit your needs. Personally, the recording software I use is Camtasia. Camtasia has lots of special effects and useful features. You can also try it out as they offer a free 30 days trial version.
Perform Separate Recordings
It's better to record the audio file and the video tutorial separately. You can record the video tutorial first before you record the audio file. The essence of this is to minimize the errors and reduce the time it takes to edit the video tutorial.
The Recording Process
Carefully record the video. Make sure the steps are slower by 20%. Concentrate on every step, try to limit errors, and do not perform any unnecessary activity. Some YouTubers can record up to 5 times and even more before they get it right. So keep doing it until you get it right. Don't forget that “Practice makes perfect.”
Write out your script before you perform the voice recording. It's more effective to read from the script. This will help you eliminate mistakes. Try as much as you can to record with clarity. Perform your recordings in a serene and quiet environment and in a natural voice. Be in charge of your voice and stress on aspects you want the user to focus on.
The Right Editing Dimensions and Clip Speeds
Use 1280×720 as your dimension for recording. This dimension is the most suitable dimension for your video. Eliminate the frames that are not necessary and ensure the video plays fast.
Exporting Your Video
I won't advise you to use Camtasia preset options for this purpose because the video will appear darker and blurry. You can export your video with these easy steps.
- Go to custom product setting.
- Select add/edit preset.
- Select New (The new production preset will be created).
- Add your desired name.
- Select AVI as your desired video format to give you a bright and high-quality video.
- Choose your frame rate as 15 fps. This will give you a small size video. Using 30fps will make your video size large
- Creating a subtitle
There is software you can use to create a subtitle file for the video tutorial. Aegisub software, for instance, can handle it for you. Ensure you export the subtitle file in srt format.
Your Video Tutorial Title, Description, and Tags
Your video title should have the relevant keywords. Make your video title brief because only 40 characters will appear in related videos.
You can give a little description of the video in the video description. Tags make your video come up with related videos. Add keywords to your tag to optimize your video.
Remember to set your privacy to public and allow comments. Your video tutorial is ready.
I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial.
